Starting your Affiliate and Adsense System
Step 11 in The Simple Affiliate System
In the pervious Steps in the Simple Affiliate System we covered the process of building an affiliate marketing business "machine". You might not have thought of what we were doing in this way but just look through the system that you have now.
1. Market research done to find a market to be successful in
2. Keywords researched and found to use on your blog
3. WordPress Blog installed and optimised
4. Quality articles published in blog
5. Links created to your blog from Squidoo, WordPress.com and some article directories
At this stage we have a well planned and well structured website- that is your business machine and now is the time to start it and turn it on to a higher setting and get extra traffic coming to your site.
How much of this promotional activity you do will depend on how much you like promotions and on how big the site is. A small site needs little promotion and a big site needs a lot.
Forums: Simple Marketing
Forum Marketing is one of the oldest of all ways to bring a message to a market. Every niche has forums which can be used both for market research and to "advertise in "… What I'm referring to here is the Signature file underneath each forum post…Here's one of my posts – if you look under my name you'll see the sig file.
When you ask a question or reply to a question asked in a forum, the signature file automatically gets published too. You may well have set this up in your email too and this is a similar idea.
A few posts like this on a daily basis can get quite a few people to check out the links in the sig file and begin a nice stream of traffic.
This is simple and works really well.
If you want a really nice Internet Marketing forum to use then visit Self Starters Weekly Tips or SSWT http://www.selfstartersweeklytips.com/members/
Again you can ask questions or answer them. Just join in and be yourself. Most people at SSWT, and what I would call the quality forums, use their real name in the forums – it encourages trust. But all forums have rules so be sure to read the posting guidelines and take a day or so to read around and find out a few basics about the forum before making the "Howdy, I'm from Texas" post!
Twitter: Even Simpler Marketing
A couple of years ago I was teaching Twitter as a way to get into Blogging. I figured that it was a good idea to get used to using Twitter as preparation for blogging.
I now think that was a mistake – Twitter is more like a forum and very little like a blog.
Twitter is an amazing community and the simple technology makes it very suitable for a beginner.
You can build a list of hundreds very quickly – the point is to be clear about why you are doing that and what you will do when you have those numbers!
It is easy to open an account and to start posting – twitter want you to invite your friends but you should be doing what is in your best long term business interest.
Who to follow – well go back to the forum and check out the signature files – many people now include their twitter username in the sig file of their emails and their forum posts.
Begin by following a few of the people in what ever forum you visit!
Some of these folk will follow you in return. Follow some people and some of those will follow you in return…
That is how you can build a list on Twitter.
It is Simple and you just need to be clear about it – Twitter is like a forum only a bit more light hearted and a bit more gossipy.
So it is not a place for hard selling or dropping an affiliate link – but it is a way of saying – try this place for Z or See this great video on Y, check out my blog post!
Twitter is a great place to build traffic to your blog!
Just get going and see how you do.
it helps to enjoy it too
