Ockham’s Razor in the Cut Throat World of Internet Marketing
How does the word "Complexity" grab you? And now try the Word, "Simplicity" on for size. How do they feel?
Speaking for myself "Complexity" almost gives me a headache. I want to tense up, grit my teeth and push through it…whereas "Simplicity" makes me smile and relax.
In my efforts over the years to learn and earn in Internet Marketing it seems that activities and routine we're supposed to use and follow get ever more complex while I find myself wanting more and more simplicity.
There is much talk of Information Overload and much confusion about what it means too.
Accomplished Internet Marketers use the word for flavour rather than accuracy as one more way to label the Newbies and learners and stigmatise them too. I've not seen any products out there designed to solve this non existent problem but I'm sure I could find them…and include my affiliate link too.
I hear a protest; I hear a confused and angry question demanding that I explain myself and my denial of this insuperable and ever present problem…
Information overload is an overload alright but it's an overload of BS from those who have been peddling their hype infused incomplete products for so long. It's an overload that got so big that the FTC has started to restrict and regulate this industry and it's an overload that will push several of the current "heroes of hype" out of the business.
They've started to duck out already…
Selling Hope With Hype
Affiliate Marketing is hardly any different from dozens of other ways of trading, selling or earning a living but seems to engulf its participants and would be participants with inferior and incomplete systems and so called "Secrets".
Whole teams of affiliates promote this crap with all the kindly consideration of a street gang bent on mugging a neighbour. And so we all get multiple copies of cloned letters from cloned affiliates gushing and bragging about the cloned product.
When I used to teach my students Information Technology I needed no hype and did not come across Information Overload either. I just taught stuff that worked! If you teach properly your students don't get "information overload"
I don't know if that would be classed as simple but I always tried to simplify what I could as long as it did not detract from accuracy. There was no hope involved – nothing to believe. I taught what worked and the students "Got it".

I guess this rant is at the heart of the Simple Affiliate System. Just teaching stuff that works! As simple as possible just as the monk, William of Ockham taught.
Step by simple step.
And it's free too.
"Freely ye have received, freely give"
So how do you feel now about "Complex" and "Simple" – leave a comment. Make it as simple or complex as you like!
